Olivia Walker-Edward’s initiative in organising a Walk for Refugees on January 17th, which has raised over $5000 and still counting, has been recognised in the House of Commons by Burlington’s MP, Karina Gould.
Ms Gould, in her first statement to the House since being elected last year, chose to recognise two individuals who have made extraordinary contributions towards making sure Burlington extends a warm welcome to Syrian refugees: Norine Hider, who collected 275 sweaters through her Sweaters for Syrians initiative, and Olivia Walker-Edwards.
Congratulations to Olivia and Norine on this much-deserved recognition.
